COVID-19 (acronym from english for coronavirus disease 2019) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which was first detected in the Chinese city of  Wuhan (Hubei province) in December 2019. Having reached more than 100 territories on March 11,2020, the  World Health Organization declared it a pandemic. The relative control of the pandemic is being achieved on two pillars, dedication of health workers (doctors, nurses, auxiliaries, stretcher-bearers, maintenance, etc.), along with the massive monitoring of confinement by the population. The latter is possible due to the equally extraordinary dedication of workers to essential activities (cashiers, bakers, police, street sweepers, etc.). All of which is having a high cost in terms of the health of both groups of workers. In this sense, the protection of health and the prevention of occupational, biological and psychosocial risks must be a priority if we want to achieve full control of the pandemic, at the lowest possible cost.
